Registration
Courses are open to the Northwestern community and to area residents. Students must be 16 years old or older.
Unwind, make new friends and learn something new, all at the same time.
Established in 1973, the Norris Mini Course program offers a wide variety of non-credit, recreational, classes for adults. Classes offer intense individual attention in a relaxed, informal environment. Most classes occur weekly in the evening to provide an escape from the daily academic or work routine.

Current & Upcoming Sessions
Sessions begin in October, January, April and July.
- Early registration dates for Winter 2027: November 16 – December 13.
- Registration starts at 8:00 AM for Wheel Throwing and 9:00 AM for all other Mini Courses.
- Regular registration: begins December 14 and ends at noon two days before the start of each class.
- Early registration grants $10 off regular fees for multiple session courses only.
Location
Most Mini Courses are held inside the Norris University Center in Evanston.

A subsidy program can support Mini Course participants facing financial barriers.
