Bicycle Registration, Free Helmet and Light
Registration
Current Northwestern students, faculty or staff who register their bike are eligible to receive a free helmet and light. Northwestern has partnered with 529 Garage to provide free, easy and fast registration.
- Sign up through the
- Print your 529 Garage confirmation and bring it along with your valid Wildcard to pick up your 529 Garage decal at a University Parking office, then affix the decal to your bike.
While you are picking up your 529 Garage decal, it would be the perfect time to also pick up your free helmet and light.
To Receive Your Free Bicycle Helmet and Light
- Complete the Bike Helmet Request Form. Measure your head first to know the helmet size you will need. The manufacturer recommends:
- Small/Medium if less than 22.75 inches
- Large/Extra Large if over 23 inches. Note that we are currently out of the Large/Extra Large helmets and are awaiting a delivery date. Please check back here before you head over to pick up your helmet.
- Check out for tips on how to correctly adjust your helmet for the safest fit.
- To pick up your free helmet and light, bring your valid Wildcard and 529 Garage registration confirmation to a University Parking Office.
