Permit Display
Permits must be displayed correctly, and license plate number(s) must be on file with Transportation & Parking. Display only the current year permit and remove old permits after they expire.
Permit Display Basics
- Parking permits are non-transferable.
- Permits must be affixed to the outside of the vehicle's rear window, lower-right corner (passenger side).
- Permits must be in an upright readable position.
- Permits may not be attached by any temporary means, such as tape.
Vehicle Position
Vehicles must be pulled in, not backed into, parking stalls (permits must face the aisle).
Temporary permit (hangtag)
- Hangtags must be displayed by hanging it from the rear-view mirror, facing out.
- Hangtags must have the expiration date indicated (scratch-off type).
- One-day temporary permits must be marked by the Evanston Parking Office with the single date that the permit can be used.
Motorcycle and Scooter Tags
Motorcycle and scooter tags must be affixed to the rear license plate.
